The Team
Our Team at Kelly Anza Hair Design are a group of close knit friends, and we constantly do our very best to maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere to any guests to the salon. However, we’re aware that new clients might find it a bit daunting trying to decide who to book in with on their first trip to the salon, so here’s a quick introduction!

Kelly Anza Smart ~ Salon Owner/Director

Training and Experience: Originally from Penzance, Kelly moved to Lincolnshire in her teens, where she later began her career in hairdressing, where she was Vidal Sassoon trained by some of the country’s top stylists. Once qualifying and building her portfolio, Kelly moved back to Cornwall in 2006 where she began work in a local salon. Quickly building her client base, Kelly became well known in the local area, and early in 2009 she decided to open her own salon, and with her brought 3 good friends. Right from the start, Kelly’s aim was to make the salon a professional place to work in whilst keeping a comfortable atmosphere, steering away from the clinical look that many salon’s have. She decided to use Paul Mitchell products from the start, because, having used them before, she was aware that the brand was professional and reliable, ensuring great colour and condition results every time. After just 6 months of having opened the salon, Kelly decided to open up the second floor as an over flow salon, giving her stylists more room to work, and also employed a new stylist.
Specialties In The Salon: Kelly enjoys colouring, cutting and also is available for gents cuts, however her creative side means she loves creating new and exciting hair ups, and also specialises in wedding and prom hair, creating elegant and stylish styles to brides-to-be and school leavers. Kelly is available on location for hair up and wedding hair.

Lillian Wilson ~ Advanced Stylist

Training and Experiance: Lilly began her career in hairdressing at the age of 17, and trained as an apprentice in Penzance where she also grew up. She was trained in a fast-growing, adventurous salon, and has always been interested in new and exciting cuts. She has now been hairdressing for 6 years, and continues to learn constantly, having recently been on several courses with Paul Mitchell to build up her already extensive knowledge of colouring. Lilly has been working at Kelly Anza Hair Design since it opened, and has helped shape the salon into the thriving business it is now.
Specialties in the Salon: Lilly loves experimenting with new and exciting colours, whilst specialising in chemical staightening and new, edgy and classic short hair-cuts. Her love of colour combined with her skill in short hair cutting gives her work added depth, and produces some amazing fashion-forward styles.

Brydie Mitchell~ Advanced Stylist

Training and Experiance: Having aimed to do hairdressing for all of her school career, at the age of 16 Brydie trained to do hairdressing at Camborne College for 2 years. Once qualified, she spent the next few months carrying on her training in a salon to gain even more skill. She soon decided she wanted to take her hairdressing to a higher level, and so relocated to London for 3 months to study Classic Cutting at the Vidal Sassoon School of Hairdressing. She has since worked other salon’s in the local area, before beginning her time at Kelly Anza Hair Design in October 2009.
Specialties in the Salon: Despite her love for creating edgey and experimental cuts and styles, Brydie also specialises in Classic cutting, styling, and colouring, and specialises in perming and cutting curly hair, creating beautiful natural curls and stunning natural styles.

Hannah Toon ~ Stylist

Training and Experiance: After a year of studying art, Hannah took a chance and decided to finish college to begin her career in Hairdressing. After training for a year in a local Penzance salon, Kelly opened up Kelly Anza Hair Design and invited Hannah to finish her training with her. Once her training and newly-developed skills had Kelly’s seal of approval, Hannah began building up her clientele in the salon, and has now been hairdressing for nearly 3 years.
Specialties in the Salon: Although still relatively new to hairdressing, Hannah’s main interests are experimenting with bright, bold and experimental colour, and also blow-drying, styling and developing her hair-up skills. She is always keen to take on a challenge and, being the youngest of the team, is constantly learning from the others.

Jack Britten ~ Part Time Stylist

Training and Experiance: Jack’s passion for dance has always influenced his hairdressing, and is what jumpstarted him to begin his career 5 years ago. Now having been qualified for 3 years, Jack has worked in another salon in town and has had his work featured in several magazines. Whilst only part time at Kelly Anza Hair Design, Jack’s skills with hair are incredible advanced and his artistic approach makes his work something special.
Specialties in the Salon: Because of his dance career, Jack’s very well known throughout the dance community and so his most devoted clients are the children and teens of the Dance School. However, Jack’s Hair Ups are also one of his specialities, creating gravity defying looks for editorial and fashion photoshoots.
